CLASKA HOTEL FOYER

A two stage piece that spans the hotel threshold comprising Interactive lighting installation and static wall relief in the same motif.
The interior light display is triggered by visitors as they enter and exit the main foyer.

Light and movement acts as a backdrop to the reception and connected lounge area. The different requirements for these spaces required a system that could harmonise both surroundings while adding ambience and human dynamic into the spaces.

On entering the building, PIR sensors detect a visitors movement triggering LED units set beneath plate glass panels. As light passes through the length of the plated panels it hits shock blasted shapes set into the glass surface. The illuminated shapes introduce depth and space to the entrance. Once the light fades away the shapes blend back into a unified motif.

For the exterior of the building the design was set into concrete where it becomes fixed into the structure.
